Christmas Holiday Classes – Are Back!

December 25, 2013

I have had a LOT of requests
to run classes these School Holidays.

After a year away from this particular spotlight,
I was unsure if I could still do it.

And then I realised
– I missed it.

Badly!

So here is the timetable
& photos
to help you visualise what each class is about.

Christmas Holidays 2014 – Craft Class Timetable

NB
The timetable is mainly for CHILDREN,
however,
I am eager to cater for adults at any other given timeslot
including the weekends or evenings
when a tipple or two would be socially acceptable!!!!

Get SMASHed

January 4, 2013

I do love getting SMASHed . . .

I have recently spent some “me” time
which entails some serious
mucking around and getting dirty!

SO much fun!

Check out the following photos of my latest SMASH efforts.

xoxox

On the following page I:

used a Tag from a swap, a picture from the Net, a piece of Foil that has been dry embossed and then altered with Alcohol Inks and then Fussy Cut

On the following page I:

have made this gorgeous winged heart,
by Die Cutting and Dry Embossing some card,
and Colour Blending the edges of the heart and wings.

On the following page I:

Hand Written one word, then Adhered a Tag made using
the Blend & Flick method from T!m,
and I have also Stamped an image and the year,
finishing with a Rubon on the top RH corner
and a small Bookplate with a handwritten Title.

Pages 43 – 44

On the following page I:

attached a a postcard I collected years ago and just could not throw out.
It now resides quite happily in my SMASH,
along with some handwritten journalling,
a Paper Heart and some plastic Tabs.

On the following page I:

created my “Oh Come On” page.
It’s where I grumble in code about different issues
I have adhered a small plastic bag,
fussy Cut a Border from some scrapbooking paper,
I have then Stuck down a Hand Cut cupey, a multi-layered Paper Flower,
a small Crocheted Doiley, a mini Skirt Pin and an Image of a Butterfly.

This BAG is the key to my continued SMASHing.

I collect all manner of odds and ends and through them in this bag.
Whenever I want to SMASH, all I do is open my SMASH bag
and start
cutting, glueing and journalling!

So how do you SMASH?

Fleur Amour Canvas

December 21, 2012

I am teaching this class on
Monday, 24th December
and
Thursday, 10th January.

I have taught it twice before and have sold one of my canvases as well.

I find it such a beautiful, graceful and calming experience.
Painting the background is so therapeutic, and
making all the flowers is an explosion of colour.

Man.
I love what I do!

Getting SMASHed

May 28, 2012

As you all know, I have developed a new addiction here at the
Purple Paper House.
I may finally bump coke off the number one “Can’t Kick It’ list.
Perhaps not a bad thing, when all is said and done!

So here is a photo of the front of my Pink SMASH journal.
Obviously I couldn’t leave it brown,
so I fiddled with some white, green and pink ink pads.

Needs some ribbon or lace next – me thinks!

Then . . .

. . . . I literally SMASHed.
I had so many little ‘bits’ that i couldn’t throw out,
but had no idea what to do with,
so they are starting to emerge with their own pages.

I’ve used a SMASH Calendar Pocket to store little card slips that I sell. I’m going to write all the cool blog posts I come across and keep them in here, so I can actually find them again one day!

I’ve used a sticker from the Pink SMASH packaging on the top right hand corner (I thought it was kinda cool) and I’ve used some toadstools from my ‘Nurture Nature’ SMASH embellishment packs. I’m a bit in love with the toadstools :)

I loved the cute SMASH Birdie Bookmark, but as my SMASH album goes in and out of my bag all day, it wasn’t going to work! So I stuck it in. Then I glued in a gorgeous paper serviette that I saw at my gf’s place.

Here is my gf, Sally, in the local rag. Where else would I put it!

I saw this in a catalogue somewhere and just loved it.

I am trying to rev myself up and finally DO my kitchen reno. These two pages are to make me start to ‘feel’ like doing it.

In my two kitchen pages – I’ve used a mixture of glue & wash tape. I love the effect.

I saw this image in the local ‘newspaper’ and I HAD to cut it out. Too cool, man!

I have a double page spread for “Fixing It”. I write, I doodle, I cut out & stick . . . and mostly I motivate – MYSELF

Inside the rear cover – The slip pocket is a cool storage spot for SMASH packaging, journaling pieces, labels, scrap paper, edging, etc.

Sorry about the really bad photo quality – I took them with my iPhone.
You get the general idea though!
Right?

SMASH Journals

May 3, 2012

I have these products arriving ANY DAY. God I am so excited.

I have created this list of youtube tutes to get you inspired,
get you creating and get you smashing!

I am using mine to commemorate my 18 month relationship with the Polar Bear. He may have unceremoniously walked away from ‘us, but in my opinion this does not define our relationship. So . . .

. . . . my SMASH journal will be a celebration of what I enjoyed about being with the Polar Bear and his family.

So load up each youtube vid and have fun.

I did!
I did :)

Creative Techniques #2

February 27, 2012

One of my all-time favourite products that has
gained economic footing thanks to Scrapbooking,
is chipboard.

Grey/brown – it is pretty unattractive stuff.

Boring brown chipboard sheet

However . . . when it is diecut or pressed (embossed) it becomes something simply spectacular.

I adore chipboard as I am yet to find a technique that I can’t do with it.

Here are just a few techniques.

When I get my camera working again,
I will share my favourite techniques from my own stash :)
