Jellybeans Layout

May 11, 2012

I just had to show you this layout.

As you are aware, I am not a confident scrapbooker – but you know what?
I love this layout.

I’m entering it into Kym’s Challenge for April
(I’m aware that I’m late – thanks for pointing out the obvious).

I’ve used

* Twiddleybitz chipboard
* Acrylic paint
* BoBunny and miscellaneous papers
* Collections Elements chipboard
* A ‘date stamp’ slip from an old library book

No, it’s not a typo!

I am in the midst of a ‘De-Bog’.

Whenever my depression threatens to take over
I have strategies that I implement to
‘come back’.

Here’s one of them . . .

. . . I surf and surf and surf – on the net :)

And today I just had to share,
as I have been working on ‘getting out of the bog’ for days
and seen A LOT of uber-cool stuff.

Check it out, peeps.
Click on the images to go to tutes & links :)

Told you I’d seen a lot ;)

SMASH Journals

May 3, 2012

I have these products arriving ANY DAY. God I am so excited.

I have created this list of youtube tutes to get you inspired,
get you creating and get you smashing!

I am using mine to commemorate my 18 month relationship with the Polar Bear. He may have unceremoniously walked away from ‘us, but in my opinion this does not define our relationship. So . . .

. . . . my SMASH journal will be a celebration of what I enjoyed about being with the Polar Bear and his family.

So load up each youtube vid and have fun.

I did!
I did :)

Scrap Layout – Little Blue Panda

April 13, 2012

I finished this layout today, after making the yellow and orange flowers for the past 3 weeks.

I just hand cut some circles, then cut in 5 petals. Afterwards I scrunched them a few times and layered them one on top of the other. It was fiddly work, but I really love the outcome.

Perfect second life for scrap pieces of paper, don’t you think!

I love the simplicity of this sketch & layout

It was for a challenge for March (yep I’m a month late) for the Jellybean Scrappers.

I loved the sketch for the challenge and really wanted to complete it, even if I wasn’t in the running for a prize.

I have used:

CS – Botany (Artee)
Background stripe – Archival Ink pad (Ranger)
Fence – T!m die cut from biscuit box, and inked with Archival Ink
Tag – scrap with Westminster Abbey stamped image (Darkroom Door), white acrylic paint wash, inked edges, stamped words (Kaisercraft)
Ribbon – Hessian (Green Tara)
Flowers – hand cut from Bazzill & Prisma CS (some have been dry brushed with white acrylic paint)
Journalling – Fineline pen (Artline)
One of a kind embellishment – Stamp (Kaisercraft) onto scrap blue card (same as tag)
Date stamp – clear stamp using Archival Ink

Scrap Layout – Far Far Away

April 12, 2012

So the Jellybeans have inspired me to scrapbook. Actually do a layout and everything.

I rarely publish photos on the net, of my loved ones.

I did it last night.
I can not believe how much I enjoyed the experience. Really enjoyed.

I’ve used:

CS – Botany [Artee]
PS – “NSW” from Great Southern Land collection [Kaisercraft]
Journal Tag – scrap [BoBunny]
Leaves [Green Tara]
Large Flower [Green Tara]
Swirls [T!m Holtz – Elegant Flourish] cut from cereal box (by the gorgeous Noriel, for me)
Bird [T!m Holtz – Bird] cut from left-over box from a product (by the lovely Sharon)
Hat pins [Floral Craft Centre]
Feathers [My garden]

Chipboard – the Utmost Embellishment in the Universe

February 28, 2012

I am an undeniable addict – and there’s nothing wrong with that.
‘Chipboard’ is the word!

I said I would post some of MY techniques today,
but my camera is still on the fritz :(

However, if someone, anyone
challenges me on this blog (in the Comments section)
for me to try a specific technique – then I will accept that challenge
and I will upload my magical creation to this blog
& then mail the original (+ some) to the winner of the dare challenge.

Do you dare?

Creative Techniques #3

February 27, 2012

One of my all-time favourite products that has
gained economic footing thanks to Scrapbooking,
is chipboard.

Grey/brown – it is pretty unattractive stuff.

Plain brown sheet of chipboard

However . . . when it is diecut or pressed (embossed) it becomes something simply spectacular.

Twiddleybitz Front end Loader

Twiddleybitz Baby Clothes

Collections – Monarch Butterflies in 2 sizes

Collections – Dress Forms + Corsets

Collections – Tree + Bird House

I adore chipboard as I am yet to find a technique that I can’t do with it.

Here are just a few techniques.

When I get my camera working again,
I will share my favourite techniques from my own stash :)
