Pinterest Picks – Paper Flowers

September 22, 2014

I recently posted a gorgeous Paper Flower Bridal Bouquet tutorial
by Lia Griffiths, here.

You see,
I absolutely adore making paper flowers. I have Created a myriad of flowers in my time in many shapes, colours and sizes. I just love using the Creative efforts of others as a spur to try a new technique, medium or manner of display.

BUT,
in the early days of my Blogging,
I would constantly compare my work to that of other Creatives.

A HUGE mistake!

Mark Twain did say,
“Comparison is the death of joy”.

Nowadays, I get such a thrill from seeing
the imaginative constructions of others.

It genuinely inspires me to ‘have a go’ and try my own version
of their beautiful composition.

So feast your eyes on these inspirational fleurs.

Calligraphy Letters? No Probs Baby

March 22, 2014

Have you ever wanted to have crack-a-lack at doing calligraphy?

I know that you can get kits and books and heaps of online tutorials.

How would you like a really simple version,
that will get you writing
– yep you read that correctly WRITING –
your own place cards (wedding)
door sign (bedroom door)
or even a title page (homemade recipes)?

Here’s a couple of tutes,
that will show you how just doing it
is all the skills you require.

Here’s my attempts.

Not so appalling is it?

I panicked,
when trying to think of words to write!

I suppose if I practice a bit
I could actually get good at it.

Will you have a crack?
I’d love to know if you do :D

Sorry just had to share this – it’s just a tad funny!

Personalised Tea Bag

February 5, 2012

It’s a simple idea, takes very little time and can be personalised to meet everyone’s taste. Ooh . . . I love it when a plan comes together : )

Print, cut, staple

Here’s a simple gift to give someone who may need as little as a cup of tea to have their spirits lifted . . . by you.

Or use it on Valentine’s Day or Mothers’ Day or for a birthday surprise!

Here’s a free downloadable template. Personalised Tea Bags.ai

Have fun :)

Today’s Sign

January 20, 2012

I had to remind all my peeps. If you’re in the South West at ALL this weekend, come and say hello @ the OBF Wedding Showcase. I’d love to give you hug, wave or slap on the patootie (your choice).

FYI – There is a licensed bar . . . if you need an incentive :)

My sidewalk blackboard for today and tomorrow :)

A Wedding Expo with style and a whole lotta pizzaz

January 18, 2012

I am attending the Old Broadwater Farm Wedding Showcase this Sunday & I have to admit, it looks a tiny bit AWESOME.

There’ll be live bands & DJ’s, fashion parades (what woman doesn’t love looking at wedding dresses – seriously?!?), workshops (by moi), giveaways, exhibitors (obviously), tastings and sooooo much more.

I’m a cited (that means I’m so excited that I can’t talk proper :)

As I have so much free time . . .

Hopefully the name says it all.

I’d love to read your comments about it.
