A few parents here and there,
find school holidays a real survival challenge.
Especially the six week long, Christmas/Summer holidays
we have down here in Oz.
But I remember my Mum loved having us home for the holidays.
We were on the opposite end of ‘wealthy’ on the economic scale,
however we always had SO much fun.
I have such fond memories of
* playing with paper dolls (hours and hours)
* playing schools, shops and Mums & Dads
* mucking around outside
* and colouring in.
Man,
I really loved colouring in.
Still do – big time!
Recently,
I decided that I wanted to make a poster for my 2014 ‘Word’,
which is actually two words . . .
“Dream BIG”.
After quite a few drafts,
I finally made a copy that I would be happy to colour in.
And here it is
for you to print off
and perhaps colour in yourself,
or share it with some ‘short people’ that you know would enjoy it.
And if you do,
please, PLEASE
send me a photo,
via the comments section,
of your completed awesomeness.

What so awesome about this Tumblr account,
is that amongst the beautiful images of
crystals
&
jewellery
&
charms,
is some gorgeous and amazing
quotes and words of wisdom.
I was mucking around with some old book pages last Friday, as I was trying to create a ‘fuller’ flower on a new origami flower ball I was making.
I didn’t want to add another element like ribbon/beads/etc, so I thought about how I could change the folding pattern to make the flowers look different.
This is what I came up with. You like?
Altered Origami Paper Flower
Have you ever altered the basic pattern of this cool origami flower ball?
Let me know.
I have also been doing quite a bit of scrapbooking – photos later!
However, what I CAN show you photos of is . . .
. . . . the fireplace I am slowly repointing (‘before’ photos)

Do you know what search term has been one of my highest ‘hits’ for internet searches in the past month? MACRAME.
I kid you not.
And seeing as I don’t remember EVER doing a post on macrame
and I can’t think that I will hold a class, kit or online tutorial
on macrame in the near future,
I though I should at least post some links to some cool macrame.
Lots of link love here . . . .

The BEST online source for modern macrame that I found . . . . . By FAR!!! Unreal photos and directions :)
